The Colbert Report: Colbert for President
October 17, 2007
Appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert announced he was considering a run for president in the 2008 presidential election. However, Colbert went on to say that the official announcement would be made, if made, on a more prestigious show.
Fifteen minutes later, on The Colbert Report, Colbert made the official announcement that he will indeed be running for president in the 2008 presidential election.
“I shall seek the office of the president of the United States,” announced Colbert. He will run as both a Democrat and Republican. Colbert also intends on confining his campaign to South Carolina.
Possible running mates? Huckabee, Putin or Colbert-Colbert. Colbert believes the third choice, Colbert-Colbert, to be the strongest ticket. How far will Colbert be able to go in his presidential run? Colbert has, in the past, been able to mobilize Colbert Nation into various campaigns unrelated to politics. This should be interesting, and definitely entertaining.

October 16, 2007
Pinkberry. Heard of it?
If you live in, or have visited Southern California or New York, perhaps you have visited the frozen yogurt dessert shop that has gained an almost cult-like following.
It has been reported (although I am not certain how serious to take this one) that Pinkberry groupies refer to the frozen yogurt dessert as Crackberry.
At the Pinkberry website there is a Groupies Corner where the Pinkberry devoted can sign up as an official Pinkberry groupie.
If you have not been to a Pinkberry store, it looks like the upscale frozen dessert chain Pinkberry may be coming to a town near you.

PostSecret: A Lifetime of Secrets
October 11, 2007
There are secrets — and then there are secrets. All secrets are intensely private by nature. However, the paradoxical universality of secrets is that secrets secretly want to be spoken, want to be known, if only there were a safe way to reveal the secret. How to reveal a secret and keep it secret. Enter PostSecret.
PostSecret began three years ago as an art experiment. Intrigued by other people’s secrets, Frank Warren began publishing the blog PostSecret where a postcard with a secret revealed is sent in anonymously and then published online. Most of the postcards sent in are a collage of images and words. The award-winning PostSecret blog has evolved into four published books in collections of anonymously and decoratively created postcard secrets.

Xbox 360 facts
October 10, 2007
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 was released at the end of 2005. The Xbox 360 was the first of the new consoles, its competitors being the Nintendo Wii and Sony’s Playstation 3. This top selling console has the ability to display its graphics in HD. The controllers used for the Xbox 360 are totally wireless. Microsoft offers a service called Xbox Live, with Xbox Live you can play games with other people from around the world as well as download new content for games.
Another great thing about the Xbox 360 is that you can buy an HD-DVD player for it and turn it into a really affordable HD-DVD player. If you go and look at stand alone HD-DVD players in stores they can cost you $300 but all it will do is play DVDs, the Xbox 360 will do that and play video games.

Nintendo Wii facts
October 10, 2007
Nintendo’s latest game console is the Wii. The Wii was released in the winter of 2006 and was a huge success. The way you play the Wii is amazing. All the action in the game is controlled through the motion of your remote, or wiimote. You play the Wii by pointing your wiimote at the screen and interacting with the game.
The Wii comes with the game Wii Sports and it gives you a good idea of what the possibilities are for the Wii’s controls. Wii Sports is a collection of games that you can play. My favorites are baseball, bowling, and tennis. In all the games you have to mimic the movements of the real sports like swinging the bat or bowling the ball.
