Wii: Finding the Wii in time for Christmas

November 15, 2007

wii.jpgOh here we go again.

Last Christmas season, the Nintendo Wii was on the top of every video gamer’s Christmas wish list. As a mother, it was the first time I felt a certain sense of justification in paying $250 dollars for a gaming system largely because playing Wii requires physical movement. I quickly discovered that the only readily available Wii consoles were being sold on eBay at three to four times the suggested retail price. I was determined not to lose my head or wallet over the Wii and I was equally determined to find one to buy. For days, it became a quest to find a merchant with a Wii in stock.

Oprah YouTube Channel: Tyson the skateboarding bulldog

November 5, 2007

First there was the Oprah Winfrey tv show. Then the Oprah Winfrey O! magazine. Now Oprah Winfrey fans have another way to enjoy their favorite talk show host. Oprah Winfrey has launched her own online video YouTube channel.

Exclusive videos from backstage at the Oprah show will be available through her YouTube channel. However, note to bloggers and other web publishers — the embedding feature has been disabled. Availability of Oprah videos is restricted to visits to the Oprah YouTube channel.

On November 6, the Oprah YouTube channel will be featured on the Oprah tv show which will include an interview with YouTube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, as well as some who have become popular through YouTube videos. P. Diddy used YouTube to search for a personal assistant and will be a featured guest of Oprah. My favorite guest will be Tyson the skateboarding bulldog.

This YouTube video of Tyson the skateboarding bulldog is not courtesy of Oprah’s YouTube channel. It was found on YouTube and is featured on Tyson the skateboarding bulldog website.

In visiting the Oprah YouTube channel, a behind-the-scene video of Tyson’s visit to the Oprah show can be viewed. Tyson skateboards through the studio and green room.
