drew-carey.jpgDrew Carey has gained an impressive entertainment resume with such hits as The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line is it Anyway? In addition to currently hosting The Price Is Right and Power of 10, comedian Drew Carey has taken on a more serious role as host of The Drew Carey Project, a series of videos for the nonprofit educational group Reason Foundation that examines freedom in the lives of every day people.

Premiering in mid-October, the second episode features medical marijuana use and the conflict between states that have legalized medical marijuana use and the continued federal war on drugs.

Al Gore Nobel Peace Prize blog speech video

Grateful Dead: Deadheads new social network

In 1971, on the gatefold sleeve of the Grateful Dead’s second live album — also known as Skull & Roses — the following notice was printed:

DEAD FREAKS UNITE: Who are you? Where are you? How are you? Send us your name and address and we’ll keep you informed. Dead Heads, P.O. Box 1065, San Rafael, CA 94901

The mailing list created from that invitation had an estimated 40,000 members. Newsletters and other mailings were sent out from 1971 to 1980. After that, the Grateful Dead Almanac. Later, the members moved online to Dead.net.

Bruce Willis: Feeling his age

Of all the summer movies, including Spiderman 3, Live Free or Die Hard starring Bruce Willis as John McClane, which premiered theaters in late June of this year, created the most buzz in the blogosphere, according to a Nielsen BuzzMetrics report.”… Live Free or Die Hard had nearly twice as many blog mentions
from January 1-April 22 as Spider-Man 3, its closet competitor in the metric. The film’s blog popularity also dwarfs such big-budget summer movies as Transformers, Shrek the Third and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.”

Willis, at 52, was featured in the June issue of Vanity Fair speaking to the issues of age in relation to the physical agility and
strength needed to do the stunts in a movie like Die Hard, and the lack
of paparazzi interest in older actors.
