Xbox 360 facts
October 10, 2007
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 was released at the end of 2005. The Xbox 360 was the first of the new consoles, its competitors being the Nintendo Wii and Sony’s Playstation 3. This top selling console has the ability to display its graphics in HD. The controllers used for the Xbox 360 are totally wireless. Microsoft offers a service called Xbox Live, with Xbox Live you can play games with other people from around the world as well as download new content for games.
Another great thing about the Xbox 360 is that you can buy an HD-DVD player for it and turn it into a really affordable HD-DVD player. If you go and look at stand alone HD-DVD players in stores they can cost you $300 but all it will do is play DVDs, the Xbox 360 will do that and play video games.
There are numerous Xbox 360 models to choose from. The base model comes with no hard drive which makes it difficult to save games and costs around $280. The premium model has a hard drive and wireless controllers. The premium model costs about $350. The elite comes with a 120 Gb hard drive and costs about $450. The elite would be good for someone who was storing a lot of music and movies on their hard drive but for people who are only using the Xbox to play games then the premium should be enough.
The most popular game on the market right now is Halo 3. The Halo series is only found on the Xbox 360. Another game that can only be found on the Xbox 360 is Gears of War. These games aren’t only fun to play through but they are also playable online. That is where the real fun is. Going online and playing against other people at anytime of the day using Xbox Live is worth the money for the console.
